"...I was scared and afraid..."
"...I was screaming in pain, 'What did I do?'"
"...I was knocked out cold."
"...I woke up, my legs were green...bruised up..."

These are just a few of the tragic memories Ariel Harrison recalled the evening she was unlawfully detained, brutalized, and almost killed by the police of Macomb, Illinois.

Now she's facing prison time for a crime she didn't commit.

The police originally accused Ariel of drinking and driving, despite doing no sobriety test at the time.

When they couldn't charge her with a DUI due to their lack of evidence, the state attorney decided to try to get her on a secondary charge of aggravated battery...on the basis that Ariel grabbed an officer's collar while she was being tased unconscious.

We must do everything in our power to get Ariel the justice she deserves!

Here's how you can help!

1. "I am contacting you today to express my concerns regarding Ariel Harrison's case. It is clear that Ariel's human rights have been violated, and that she is the victim of this case. She is a victim of police brutality, jail negligence, and prosecutorial misconduct. It is the exact opposite of justice to have Ariel subject to prison time for her completely normal and human reaction to the violence she faced. Everything about her case is unacceptable. I am calling on the Illinois State Attorney, Matt Kwacala, to do the right thing and drop the charges against Ariel!"
